# Session Signals > Session Signals is a quiet live companion for therapists. During a video session it listens alongside the therapist and offers at most one restrained cue at a time, only when a feeling belongs to the client. It runs on the therapist's own computer. It is a research prototype, not a medical device. ## What it does - Live: a narrow panel beside the video call. Silence ("Nothing to flag. Keep listening.") is the normal state. A cue is a short prompt such as "Reflect the feeling" or "Slow down here", with the client's own words. - Whose feeling is it: it separates the client's own emotion from emotions the client describes in other people, and stays quiet when ownership is unclear. - Review: after the session, the recording, transcript and every cue sit on one timeline, and the therapist can rate whether each cue was right. - Patterns: across sessions, it highlights distinctive links between feelings and subjects, as hypotheses to explore. ## Privacy - Classification runs locally on the therapist's computer; session audio is not sent to cloud AI services. - Therapist feedback (helpful, not now, save) is stored locally and does not retrain the model automatically. ## What it is not - Not a diagnosis, a risk score, or a treatment recommendation engine. - Not a replacement for clinical judgement. Its confidence is a model signal, not a clinical probability. ## Who it is for Therapists, clinical psychology training programs, and clinical reviewers who evaluate the model. ## Status Research prototype.
